Prohibitin-targeting peptide for adipose tissue vasculature research

Overview [research use only]

Adipotide, also known as Prohibition-targeting peptide 1 (TP01) or FTPP, is a peptidomimetic designed to bind to receptor proteins ANXA2 and prohibition, which are selectively found on the blood vessels supplying white adipose tissue. This binding induces apoptosis of those vessels, resulting in targeted adipocyte loss. Early preclinical studies in rodent and nonhuman primate obesity models demonstrated rapid fat reduction, improved insulin sensitivity, and reduced BMI.
